Soup Beans

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 bag of pinto beans
  • 1/2 bag of red kidney beans
  • Ham hocks, bacon, or “fat back” (for flavoring)
  • Spring onions (optional, for serving)
  • Cornbread (for serving)

Instructions :

  1. In the morning, put on a big pot of beans (pinto and red kidney) to cook.
  2. Add ham hocks, bacon, or fat back for flavor.
  3. Allow the beans to simmer until they are tender and flavorful.
  4. Serve the soup beans with spring onions and a side of cornbread.
