School Lunch Pizza Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup warm water (110-115°F)
  • 2 cans (12 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F. Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered milk, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the vegetable oil and warm water. Gradually add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon until a slightly wet dough forms. Do not overmix.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly to cover the entire pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  5. While the crust is baking, prepare the pizza sauce. In a medium bowl, combine the tomato paste, minced garlic, water, olive oil, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and dried rosemary. Stir until well combined. (source: Ineskohl.info)
  6. In a skillet, cook the ground chuck over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then drain any excess grease.
  7. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust, followed by the cooked ground chuck.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the meat, covering the entire pizza.
  9. Place the pizza back in the oven for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it stand for at least 5 minutes before cutting it into squares. Enjoy your homemade school-style pizza!
