Million Dollar Pound Cake!

Ingredients :

For the Cake :
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Glaze (Optional) :
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions : 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or tube pan.
  3. Make the Cake Batter:
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
  6. Mix in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  8. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  11. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk or powdered sugar if needed.
  13. Once the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake.
  14. Slice and enjoy this rich, buttery pound cake that’s perfect for any special occasion or as a delicious treat!
