Make Your Own Butter at Home

Ingredients:

  • Heavy Cream: 2 cups
  • Salt (optional): 1/4 teaspoon

Equipment:

  • Mixer or Blender
  • Cheesecloth
  • Bowl
  • Spatula

Instructions :

  1. Pour Cream into Mixer: Place the heavy cream into your mixer or blender.
  2. Whip the Cream: Start on a medium speed, gradually increasing to high. Continue until the cream separates into butter and buttermilk (about 10 minutes).
  3. Drain the Buttermilk: Pour the mixture through a cheesecloth to separate the buttermilk from the butter.
  4. Wash the Butter: Rinse the butter under cold water to remove any remaining buttermilk.
  5. Knead and Salt: Knead the butter with a spatula to remove excess water. Add salt if desired.

  • Store butter in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
