Bacon Beer Cheese Sloppy

Ingredients :

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beer (preferably a lager or pale ale)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    Hamburger buns, for serving

Instructions :

  1. Cook the Bacon:
In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and crumble into small pieces. Set aside.

  2. Brown the Beef:
In the same skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  3. Cook the Aromatics:
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onions soften.

  4. Add the Beer and Tomato Paste:
Pour in the beer, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Stir in the tomato paste and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the beer to reduce slightly.

  5. Add the Cheese and Condiments:
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Then add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Combine with Bacon:
Mix the crumbled bacon into the beef and cheese mixture. Stir until everything is well combined and heated through.

  7. Serve:
Spoon the bacon beer cheese sloppy joe mixture onto hamburger buns. Serve immediately and enjoy this creamy, savory, and indulgent twist on a classic!
