Cinnamon Donut Bread

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions :

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan (8×4 inches) or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
