Ingredients :
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (optional, to prevent curdling)
Instructions :
- Combine Ingredients:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and sugar.
- Add the butter to the mixture.
- Cook the Mixture:
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer gently. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Thicken the Milk:
- Cook the mixture for about 30–40 minutes, or until it reduces by half and thickens to a creamy consistency. Be patient and avoid boiling, as it can curdle the milk.
- Add Baking Soda (Optional):
- Stir in the baking soda during the last few minutes of cooking to keep the mixture smooth.
- Cool and Store:
- Remove the pan from heat and let the sweetened condensed milk cool completely.
- Pour into clean, sterilized jars and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Enjoy !
