Ingredients :Β 

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Instructions :Β 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the unsweetened cocoa powder and hot water until smooth to create a chocolate batter.
  7. Pour half of the vanilla batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spoon dollops of the chocolate batter on top of the vanilla batter.
  8. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batters together, creating a marbled effect.
  9. Pour the remaining vanilla batter over the chocolate batter and swirl again with a knife or skewer.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Allow the marble cake loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
