- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water
Instructions :Β
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the unsweetened cocoa powder and hot water until smooth to create a chocolate batter.
- Pour half of the vanilla batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spoon dollops of the chocolate batter on top of the vanilla batter.
- Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batters together, creating a marbled effect.
- Pour the remaining vanilla batter over the chocolate batter and swirl again with a knife or skewer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the marble cake loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
